While waiting for the Tofurky roast to cook, and after spending hours looking at the computer screen doing re-writes and edits, I decided I might as well put these stickers on the Fat Jet (Egg Jet) that I assembled a couple of weeks ago.
The first decal, da mouth! RAWR! Imma scary jet!

One of hopefully two contributions to Mecha Month. Kotetsu aka. Wild Tiger from Tiger and Bunny. This is the first time I’ve done a human figure from a mecha kit and hopefully it won’t be the last.
I see some shortcomings of kits like this, which may be evident in some of the larger photos of the eyes and such. It’s very hard to get a good application of the decals, but I’m not unhappy with it.

just finished listening to ep109 and it got me thinking about the kits I have left to do… there’s a lot.
WIP shot of the R-GREY1 (from the shmup RayStorm) after about… 10 episodes of G Gundam. This kit has more panel-lines and greebles than a Katoki Gundam has decals. Used a Gundam marker to roughly draw in the lines and wiped with a bit of tissue for a much softer look.
This kit should last me through G and Turn A.
…after the N. FL Comic Show yesterday I put on some pjs and decided to build a jet. Look how excited I am.
It’s an EggJet. I call it a fat jet, because it’s a jet that’s fat. Super cute stuff.
Oh man, not many pieces, this should be easy!
Let’s punch these pieces out! Punching with…
It has BEGUN!
Mecha Month has officially…
STARTED!
I will be posting updates throughout the month of my progress and please feel free to post your progress and work.
Finding a beginner’s guide to mecha modeling is tough. Most people that make them are usually super advanced and have no idea how intimidating it is for those who aren’t used to it. Virtually all the guides go in to way too much detail and far too much about painting, but this guide is nice in that it breaks it out.
If you’re new to the whole thing don’t be intimidated, look at the basics, the tools and the process and start there. Don’t go too much in to painting, it’s only necessary if you want super nice results so no need to go super perfectionist, just get something done.
